Who we are
This is the website for Charlie Russell Nature Photography, where we post our original content that can include photographs, articles about where to hike to see wildflowers, and discuss topics relating to nature and photography. Our website address is: https://wildflowers.russellramblings.com/.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
One of the items we collect with comments is your email address. This is only used to notify you of additional comments (and replies) that are added to the discussion, which only occurs if you check the “Notify me when new comments are added” box after your comment.
We have a contact form that you can use if you wish to send us a query, or if you wish to purchase one of our photographs. We collect only the information shown in that form. This information may be retained for an indefinite period of time, but it is only used in relation to the query that you send to us.
The only cookies that might be used in this website are cookies from Google Analytics (to measure website traffic), as well as cookies from our advertising partners (such as Amazon) if you click on a link to their website. We only use the aggregate data captured by those sites, we won’t see your individual data.
Who we share your data with
We do NOT share your data with ANY third party, other than the following:
- PayPal: If there is a link to enter a payment for a photograph, you will be directed to a PayPal website to complete the transaction. PayPal will retain some information. Note that we do NOT see or retain your payment information outselves
- Google: Some tracking information may be collected by Google Analytics. We only see this in aggregate, we won’t see your detailed data.
- Amazon and other third party selling websites: If there is a link to Amazon or similar websites, those websites will collect information if you make a purchase.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
